I really enjoy Japanese Chicken so I was delighted to find a good recipe for it. Now this recipe gets used about every other week at our house.
Japaneze chicken
Fry 2 pounds of chicken dipped in flour. Put in a 9×13 pan and sprinkle with garlic salt, seasoned salt, and paprika. Then mix together the following ingredients.
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
3 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
Pour over chicken and bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Serve over rice.

We love Japanese chicken too! I recently discovered a time-saving trick for this recipe from a cook-friend who makes very tasty food. She skips the dipping in flour and frying step, and simply bakes the chicken in the sauce. I personally don’t think you can taste the difference.
This week one day I dipped the chicken in flour and layered it in the crock pot, pouring the sauce over the chicken, (I like the thickening affect the flour has on the sauce.) It’s such a quick and easy meal!

Yes, my aunt did it without frying for a wedding. I need to try that some day. I also like your idea for a crockpot.
