My week last week was very busy getting ready for my parent’s 50th Anniversary celebration. There was food to make, food to buy, decorations to make, and ideas to finalize.
I only have one sister and she lives out west so we were back and forth trying to make sure that everything would come together. My two sister in laws that live closer were a great help in planning as their parents both had had their 50th anniversaries already.
We had decided on a Sunday afternoon drop in so we just needed a place that could hold around 100 people. We knew of a renovated old barn that was just the perfect spot for a party like this. It was such a nice homey building and everyone loved it.
We had a small display where the folks entered and signed their names.
Then we had a welcome sign on a chalkboard where my parents stood behind to greet their friends.
Next we had a picture table where their wedding photos and our family photos were displayed.
The folks then all sat around and visited with all their old friends and I got to see many people that I hadn’t seen for years.
Then there was lots of food for all to eat. Somehow I missed getting the whole food table but here is some of the food.
There was lots of good snacking food and we discovered that most of our family was not terribly hungry for supper when we wanted to serve it!
So we had a wonderful 50th anniversary with our parents and we wish them many more good happy years.

Hi Michelle, I found your blog last week 🙂 Looks like a nice celebration, and what a blessing to have parents that are still together in this day!
