Arches National Park is lovely with over 2000 Arches. You see very few of those from the road and most of them take some hiking to get close to.
One of the first sights you see as you start driving through the park is the “Three Gossips”. It reminded me of the three wise men.
The courthouse towers are kinda neat too.
The balancing rock is right by the roadside so you can’t miss it.
The double arch was our favorite. You can see it from the road but it is a hike you must not miss. It is only a half mile hike on easy trails. When you get to the arch, you can climb very high up and look out over. It is a steep climb on smooth rock and I discovered that it was easier getting up then getting back down! But I made it back down with my hands full of stuff.
The children could hardly get done climbing the arches. Sometimes they were high up and I just prayed that they would make it back down without falling.
The north and south window were neat but we didn’t walk up to them since we were hot and tired from all our climbing.
The delicate arch which you see in many pictures of Arches National Park was one I really wanted to see. When I found out that I would have to hike in three miles, I was not quite so anxious to see it since it was a very hot day. So we viewed it from a distance and the next picture shows you just how far it was.
Most of the other arches were long hikes too so we did not see many more as the weather was very hot when we were there. And the next park was always ready to explore in the cool of the evening.
