I always love a good butter tart, especially one that has pecans in it! We never made tarts when I was growing up. My husband’s family made delicious tarts and it was always a treat to eat them when we went to his folks home. Now I have learned to enjoy making tarts also.
This I s my favorite recipe from my sister in law, Jessica. A very simple recipe and oh so good.
Butter tarts
Your favorite pie pastry dough to fill two muffin pans
Filling: 2 cups brown sugar 4 eggs
1 cup corn syrup 2 tsp. butter
2 tsp vanilla
Place a golf ball size amount of pastry dough in each muffin cup, shape around bottom and edges with tart stomper or your fingers.
Mix all filling ingredients together with whisk. If desired place pecans or raisins into shells then pour full with filling. Bake tarts at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes.
My favorite are the pecan tarts and my husband likes the raisin tarts. Try them and see which one you like best.
