In the business of springtime I am not getting my weekly menus out. So I decided to give you a quick peak at some of my flowers that are blooming. I thought it was still quite green in the beds with just a few blooms but when I actually looked closer, I realized that a lot was blooming. My poppies are always special. They are always the first thing to bloom after the tulips. I have … [Read more...]
Spring is Here!

Gifts for the Flower and Bird Lover
I find it hard to think of gifts for those who have everything. Those who love flowers and birds are easy to buy for as there are so many gifts that they would enjoy. Lets start with someone who loves flowers. You could always gift them with a flower bouquet but better yet get them flowers that last longer. Have you a Green Thumb?
I have been told on several occasions that I have a green thumb. What really does it mean to have a green thumb? I was wondering where that term came from so I did a little bit of research. Some say that King Edward I loved fresh peas. He had many gardeners who supplied him with many peas. He gave a prize to the one that had shelled the most peas and thus had the greenest thumb. Others say that … [Read more...]

Take a walk in my garden
I just enjoy walking through my flower gardens after a busy day. It is relaxing to pull weeds here and there on a beautiful spring evening. Pulling weeds is a great hobby of mine since "A good gardener must not only like flowers but he must hate weeds". My Lupines are blooming so nicely. I only have one hardy pink one that survived so this spring I seeded some more in hopes of having more … [Read more...]
