There are many ways that you can save when doing your laundry. One of them is to make your own fabric softener. It is so easy to make and it works very well. It can be made in a few minutes and it costs very little.
If you want a very simple fabric softener just use 1/2 cup vinegar per load. Your clothes will not smell like vinegar and your towels will be nice and fluffy. If you want to add a scent to your clothes then just add a little bit of essential oil to your vinegar. Make sure you add this to your fabric softener dispenser and not to your wash load.
Another recipe for fabric softener is to mix 6 cups of hot water, 2 cups of hair conditioner, and 3 cups of vinegar. Mix together in a large bowl and then put into an old fabric softener container or in jars.
The above recipe is also good for use in the dryer. Cut a household sponge in half and put it in a jar. Add your homemade fabric softener. When you need fabric softener for the dryer, just squeeze out a sponge and throw it into the dryer with your clothes. Or if you prefer not to make your own fabric softener you can use bought fabric softener in your jar.
