Maybe you need a simple activity to keep your children busy this week. These snowmen are easy and fun to make. My girls enjoyed making them one afternoon. My girls are 10 and 11 and they were able to make them themselves.
First you will need to make sure you have all the craft supplies before you tell your children what you are going to make. Too often we have the children excited about a project only to find that we are missing some craft items.
You will need an empty toilet paper roll, white spray paint, cotton balls, ribbon, wiggly eyes, orange foam or construction paper, pipe cleaners, paper plate, buttons, Pom poms, black marker, craft glue or hot glue, and small twigs if you want arms.
The day before or at least hours before you will need to spray paint the toilet paper rolls. If the card boards are brown you will need to give them at least 2 coats.
Let each child pick their buttons and ribbon and then glue them on. Cut out an orange nose and glue the eyes and nose on. Draw a little mouth. Stuff the tubes with cotton. Glue on the pipe cleaners and put Pom poms on top. If you want arms you will need to poke a hole in each side to insert the sticks. Glue the tubes on a plate individually or as a group. Put cotton balls around for snow.
Well, we might not have snow but it sure is fun thinking of snowmen and making them inside where it is warm!
